Strategic partnership with OHB System AG

On August 17, 2023, a delegation from Merkle CAE Solutions GmbH visited our strategic partner, OHB System AG in Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich, in midsummer temperatures.

Dr. Axel Müller, Lead Expert Contamination Control at OHB System (3rd from left) and our main contact person for the projects, presented after the welcome the large number of projects in which Merkle CAE Solutions has played a decisive role with simulations in recent years.

Projects to date include diverse investigations on various clean room concepts, on satellites during venting and purging, on the possible contamination of science satellites at the launchpad, to investigations of the behavior of lunar dust on the lunar surface.

In addition, various joint projects are currently underway in the medical field, e.g. a joint simulation and measurement campaign in the operating room environment under the heading 3C-vis, as well as joint projects at ITER in Cadarache.

During a subsequent guided tour, the employees were able to see the satellite projects in the flesh, some of which they had previously only been familiar with on the basis of CAD data for project processing. The tour also included a look at new clean rooms, which we helped to design.

A joint lunch rounded off the successful morning before we then started our journey home to Heidenheim.
