Meanwhile, plastic is almost only shown in the relevant media in connection with environmental pollution and tortured animals.
But although waste disposal and plastic waste management are important issues, we should not forget that plastic is one of the most versatile materials whose potential is far from exhausted.
Today, there is a wide range of additives such as fillers, color particles, fibers and metal platelets that make enormous additional properties of plastics and elastomers possible. For example, short or longer fibers can greatly enhance strength properties, or adding copper platelets can increase thermal conductivity.
Plastics and elastomers are per se a highly nonlinear matter that places high demands on the calculation, especially when additives are mixed in.

On Nov. 13, 2019 from 2-6 p.m., we offer a beginner's seminar on plastics technology, where we focus more on calculation basics. This seminar is aimed at designers, calculation engineers and project managers who want to deal more with the topic of plastics and elastomers in the future.
On 14.11.2019 from 09 am to approx. 5 pm we will show a mixture of industry presentations and current research results from our research project SmartSim. This year's special topic is the effect of media influence on plastics.
In this case, of course, it's not about press and co, but about the behavior of other aggressive media, such as oil, water, etc.
